Comptroller Franchot took office in 2007 declaring he would expand the purview of the agency. He has done so through a number of initiatives. As a former legislator with more than 20 years of experience, he will continue to be a strong advocate for education, health care, transportation and environmental protection initiatives as well as being the state's fiscal watchdog.
