Career Information

The State of Maryland Agencies along with other State of Maryland Agencies have implemented a new On-Line Job Application System called JobAps.

The new system, sponsored by the State of Maryland Job Openings website is called the Online Employment Center or OEC, representing a more secure environment for applicant information and is anticipated to improve the State's recruitment process.

Communications will be sent to applicants via the e-mail address they provide.  If you do not have an e-mail address, it is recommended that you visit any public library and create an e-mail address via any free e-mail service provider.

Once applicants have an e-mail address, they are encouraged to create a profile in the JobAps system, which will allow users to apply for positions, including "Interview & Hire" positions.

Applicants will then have the ability to apply for more than one position with a single application, log onto the system to check their application status, and update their information as it changes.

To view a list of the Comptroller of Maryland's current recruitment efforts please click on the Job Listings link below.  For information on setting up your user account within the OEC, click here to open the webpage for State of Maryland Job Openings.

***Please note*** First time users or to register initially for an account, visit the OEC;

  • Select State Jobs from the menu on the left.
  • Select My Applications from the menu on the left.  Once on the login screen, select the New User/Application at the very bottom of the screen.
  • The next screen is the Application Template screen.  You set-up your application just as you would for submitting online.  This process will save your template for later usage with other application efforts.
